I have been thinking a lot these past weeks about life, my parenting, my kids, my husband and trying to keep my focus upon the things that REALLY MATTER.
My daughter Paige Scarlett was born 7 weeks premature and weighed only 3 lbs 10 oz. She was a tiny little peanut and fought for every day of the first 3 weeks of her life. She graduated from high school last week and I couldn't be more proud of her. She is a 'lover of people' and it is that quality that best describes her. She has battled depression, hurt over lost friendships and seen some of her family members stray away from the values they were taught. Through it all she has remained steadfast in her faith. She is a role model for ME! Is she perfect? Absolutely, NOT! :) She is sandwiched in between two sisters who are musical and sometimes gets asked "Do you sing like your sisters?" It is hard for her because both her dad and I are musical and she feels like the only one who doesn't sing. (by the way, she can sing....I have heard her. She just thinks she can't)
I could care less if she graduated with man made 'honors.' I know what she did in school. Struggled years 1 and 2 and EXCELLED years 3 and 4. I think she should have an award for 'Most Improved' graduate!
She is amazing and I wish I could be like her sometimes. She is one of the absolute JOYS of my life and I know that God has a plan and a purpose for her life. It is a miracle that she is alive today and that alone tells me that God is going to use her for His glory. I only got to borrow her for these past 18 years and I hope she loves me half as much as I love her.
